Home Improvement The Complete Second Season DVD, 2005, 3-Disc Set 786936255928

I found these episodes to be funny and enjoyable, with just enough seriousness for me to take them seriously. This certainly isn’t the best show I have ever seen, but I did really enjoy what it had to offer for the most part. I just could never really get past my initial assumption that Tim Allen was somehow holding something back. What’s even more strange is that when we watch his movies, it seems like he is just suffering through those. Something tells me he could really juice up his career if he played the role of bad guy.

Stephen Tobolowsky was tapped to play the Tool Time co-host, Glen. However, he was still busy with a movie that was in the middle of production at the time the first pilot was to be shot. Therefore, the producers set out to cast an alternate character that would stand in as Tim's co-host for the pilot, or for however many episodes were required until Tobolowsky was available. The casting department auditioned Richard Karn, for what would be his first major appearance on a TV sitcom; the character of Al Borland was created from there. After the first few episodes completed with Patricia Richardson as Jill, Tobolowsky was still tied up with his other commitments, and Karn found himself in his role permanently when Tobolowsky decided he would have no time to do a series. Home Improvement is an American television sitcom starring Tim Allen that aired on ABC from September 17, 1991 to May 25, 1999 with a total of 204 half-hour episodes spanning eight seasons.

Item specifics

Dave, the guy Jill set up with Karen earlier in the season, asks Tim to lie and say that he had lunch with him the day before. When Tim can't keep the truth from Jill, both of them are put in awkward situations with their friends. More entertaining is the blindfolded wood smell test that Al agrees to on "Tool Time." Tim invites some guys over to help him put an engine in the hotrod he is building. Two of the guys' wives and Jill's friend Karen show up too and the day soon turns into a barbecue marked by matchmaking attempts, which frustrates Tim.

It went to No. 2 in the ratings during the 1993–1994 season, the same year Allen had the No. 1 book (Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man) and film . I personally think that he can be funny, but I think that situation comedies like Home Improvement - Season 2 are just not the right place for his brand of humor. While watching this show, I always got the impression that he wanted to be might more racier then he was. That there are a lot of things he wanted to say, but he couldn’t say because he was on regular TV. In fact, this show really seemed more like something he felt he had to do, rather then like something he really wanted to do.

Dunning had previously appeared in the episode "Overactive Glance" from season 2 where she played an obsessive Tool Time fan named Kiki. Anderson did reprise the role of Lisa on the sixth-season finale episode "The Kiss and the Kiss-Off", which aired on May 20, 1997. Each episode includes Tim's own Binford-sponsored home improvement show, called Tool Time, a show-within-a-show. When he finally returns home, Jill is upset, fearing that the romance has left their relationship.

It's a tough project, but with insightful advice from his wise next door neighbor, Wilson, they're able to get the job done. And with exclusive bonus features, it's a must-have for any Home Improvement collection. There are also a couple of interesting story arcs in this season. One I really enjoyed is about Brad finding his way with girls.

Meanwhile, Brad ponders the true meaning of Jennifer's physical assaults. Overall I was quite happy with the second season of Home Improvement. The Taylor family, Wilson, and Al all work together like clockwork.

So, if you did enjoy season one, then chances are you are going to enjoy season two. In season two there are a number of episodes devoted to the hilarious interactions between married couples. For instance, despite Tim and Jill have been married for fourteen years, Tim can't remember their anniversary, doesn't understand his wife as a person, and so on. In the season premiere "Read My Hips", Jill prepares a night of romance for Tim. Unfortunately he fails to catch all of her signals and ruins the night by spending it with some friends at a bar.

Beginning in season 2, Home Improvement began each episode with a cold open, which features the show's logo during the teaser. From season 4 until the end of the series in 1999, an anthropomorphic version of the logo was used in different types of animation. Based on the stand-up comedy of Tim Allen, Home Improvement made its debut on ABC on September 17, 1991, and was one of the highest-rated sitcoms for almost the entire decade.

In later seasons, she returns to college to study psychology. Family life is boisterous for the Taylors, with the two oldest children, Brad and Randy, tormenting the much younger Mark, all while continually testing and pestering each other. Such play happened especially throughout the first three seasons, and it was revisited only occasionally until Jonathan Taylor Thomas left at the beginning of the eighth season. During the show's final season, Brad and Mark became much closer due to Randy's absence.

As became the norm for the series, the holiday episodes at Halloween and Christmas are two highlights of the season. Delivery time is estimated using our proprietary method which is based on the buyer's proximity to the item location, the shipping service selected, the seller's shipping history, and other factors. Episodes of Home Improvement were not aired in order of their production code number or original airdate. On cable, the series started airing in 2002 on superstations TBS and WGN America. It later ran on Nick at Nite and its sister network TV Land, and eventually the Hallmark Channel in 2013.

My only complaint is that the only bonus feature here is called "Loose Screws Part 2",which takes ten of the funniest moments from some of the episodes that were included in this DVD set. But hey--with the first four seasons of this show being available on DVD as of now and with only four more DVD sets for this show to go ,there definitely will be more room for more extra feautures on future DVD sets of "Home Improvement". The producers of this show have a good start for not only this DVD set,but also for the other three sets of this show that have been released on DVD. What you have right here is the second season for "Home Improvement"--every second of every episode from the second season of HI,on a three disc set.
