Rather than have him prancing around on stage, Tim agrees to build a pulley system so he can fly. Buena Vista's three-disc boxset contains all 25 of the show's second season episodes, unedited and with chapter stops for quick scene access. The second season brought "Home Improvement" its second of five Emmy awards for Outstanding Achievement in Lighting Direction (this time for the episode "Bye, Bye, Birdie") and again a nomination but loss for Outstanding Comedy Series. Richardson was offered $25 million to do a ninth season; Allen was offered double that. The two declined, and Home Improvement ended after eight seasons and 203 episodes. Premiering in June 2022, Tim Allen and Richard Karn, teamed up with YouTuber DIYer April Wilkerson, on History Channel documentary series More Power; where the hosts cover the history of tools, again a la Tool Time from Home Improvement.
For Tim Allen, doing a sitcom, I can understand him playing things “close to the vest.” Now, if only he would do something about the roles he plays he in movies... Any woman will gain an understand of men, because although Tim pokes fun at himself and men in general, the fact is most of it is based on truth, about men think and feel. I wish there was a woman comedian who could help me understand my wife better....

It's a tough project, but with insightful advice from his wise next door neighbor, Wilson, they're able to get the job done. Now you can own all 25 episodes of the show's second season in this comprehensive 3-Disc DVD set. And with exclusive bonus features, it's a must-have for any HOME IMPROVEMENT collection. A large portion of the show is watching Tim get into hot water with his wife, his kids, and his coworkers. Fortunately, his neighbor Wilson is always there to give him advice, although, Tim never seems to be able to follow Wilson's advice exactly, but things always turn out alright.

I know that I say this a lot, but I think this material has basically made me say it again, this is a simple TV show so the sound design isn’t going to be anything out of the ordinary. Save for the moments when the laughter happens and a character has to wait to deliver his next line, there aren’t really any moments where things happen with the sound in a Coppola-esque way. Nor do I think the people buying this box set expect to put the disks in their player and have a hard time hearing what is being said. I found that on my crummy TV setup, I was able to hear everything just fine. In fact, I really didn’t have to adjust the sound levels on my television set at all.

It went to No. 2 in the ratings during the 1993–1994 season, the same year Allen had the No. 1 book (Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man) and film . I personally think that he can be funny, but I think that situation comedies like Home Improvement - Season 2 are just not the right place for his brand of humor. While watching this show, I always got the impression that he wanted to be might more racier then he was. That there are a lot of things he wanted to say, but he couldn’t say because he was on regular TV. In fact, this show really seemed more like something he felt he had to do, rather then like something he really wanted to do.

It seems like he just did this because it was good career move, great exposure and the obvious “next level” that someone in his position would take. The "Loose Screws" montage is, as with the first season set, not really an extra, as it simply slices up little bits of footage from the actual episodes. In "Rites and Wrongs Of Passage", Brad starts to act like an out of control teenager and Tim isn't quite sure how to handle the situation. Randy gets picked on at school and Tim takes the issue straight to the bully's father, who turns out to be just as bad as his son. While facing the day-to-day challenges of parenting, marriage, and being an accident-prone personality, Tim again frequently looks over the fence for help. Always there to listen and advise is the Taylors' sage, enigmatic neighbor Wilson .
THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW DVD COMPLETE SERIES BOX SET
A great old-school TV show you can watch with the whole family. Throughout the show, Tim Taylor would often be wearing sweatshirts or T-shirts from various Michigan-based colleges and universities. These were usually sent by the schools to the show for him to wear during an episode. Because Allen considered Michigan his home state, the rule was that only Michigan schools would get the free advertising. There were two notable exceptions to the general rule that Tim only supported Michigan educational institutions on the show.

If you enjoyed season one, then season two should be a blast. However, if season one didn't appeal to you, then season two probably won't either. The series is based upon the work of stand-up comedian Tim Allen. Tim is a family man who makes a living by hosting a home improvement show in Detroit, Michigan called "Tool Time". He is a minor celebrity and more often than not, his ego gets in the way. The show takes a look at the hilarious daily interactions of Tim, at both the home and the workplace.

Home Improvement - Season 2 was a lot better then I thought it was going to be. I really never watched this show just because when it was on, I was so busy doing other things that I basically didn’t watch TV at all. So now getting the chance to revisit it, I think I have stated pretty clearly why this show was successful. Tim Allen has the ability to be really funny and as a result of this we really like him. Add to this that Home Improvement - Season 2 is a very light, easily accessible show and something that can appeal to both men and women , and I think one can understand why this show was as popular as it is. Tim Allen hammers home the laughs as Tim "The Toolman" Taylor in Home Improvements's hilarious second season.
The show's real strength comes from the cast's great chemistry and how goofy every situation gets. For a more comprehensive introduction to this series, please refer to my season one review. Overall season two is a lot of fun and if you enjoyed season one, then season two will definitely be a riot. Estimated delivery dates - opens in a new window or tab include seller's handling time, origin ZIP Code, destination ZIP Code and time of acceptance and will depend on shipping service selected and receipt of cleared payment. Nothing too great, just the moments that the people who created this DVD felt were the strongest and most funny throughout the season.
I enjoyed this, but I sort of think that if one were to watch this before they actually sat down to screen the episodes, they may sort of feel let down when they watch the show. This said, if you are a fan of Tim Allen, if you think he is the funniest thing since sliced bread, then you more likely then not will enjoy this compiled piece of funny scenes. Home Improvement centers around the life of Tim Taylor , a home improvement expert who hosts his own local TV show "Tool Time" on cable access. Tim and his wife Jill live in a house in the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan with their three boys Brad , Randy , and Mark . On "Tool Time," Tim is flanked by the flannel-clad, easy-going Al Borland who is often the butt of Tim's jokes and harbors a neurotic tendency toward perfectionism. At home, Tim's numerous domestic missteps lead him to continuously seek the advice of his well-traveled, near-perfect neighbor Wilson , whose lower face is never seen ...
An enjoyable episode which allows the cast to revel in amusing shenanigans. The Al Borland Fan Club visits "Tool Time." One of "Home Improvement"'s most dramatic episodes, though it's pulled off tactfully. To balance Tim's frequent hardheadedness is his wife Jill who in Season 2 explores some career possibilities when she is hired for a temporary job at a local magazine and asked to return. Tim and Jill's marriage poses plenty of conflict (always resolvable within the half-hour) and their disagreements would often be the basis for a show. The second season provides many a dilemma for the couple that has been married for 15 years, including whether to get involved with friends' romances, asking for directions when driving, determining who owns what in their relationship, and assessing their compatibility . If the item details above aren’t accurate or complete, we want to know about it.
Tim and his levelheaded wife, Jill, undertake the challenge of raising three young, mischievous boys. It's a tough project, but with insightful advice from his wise next-door neighbor, Wilson, they're able to get the job done. "When it comes to shows like "Home Improvement" that are aired in syndication seemingly a dozen times a day in any given market , it becomes very important for the DVD presentation to provide something extra.
This season also features a few more episodes about Tim and Jill still trying to work out the kinks in their relationship. In "Overactive Glance" Jill gets a little too sensitive when Tim looks at another woman and Tim tries to prove to her he can go an evening without looking at other women. In "Groin Pulls", Tim tries to show Jill what a manly man he is, but at what cost? The episode "You're Driving Me Crazy, You're Driving Me Nuts" is quite funny. Tim tries to convince Jill he doesn't need direction to get their friend's wedding.
The show hosted by Tim Taylor in the shooting script for Home Improvement was still called Hammer Time when the first pilot with Frances Fisher was filmed in April 1991. The catalyst for the series' name change was to represent the aspect of fixing problems within the family and home life, as well as the use of mechanics and tools. Once the second phase of the pilot was produced, with all the actors that made the final cut into the series , Tim Taylor's Hammer Time became Tool Time.
